Dr. Masrani has a great desire to serve sick patients of India and the USA. After a few years of working as Casualty Medical Officer in Mumbai, he expanded his horizons to Nigeria and then the USA. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and a cardiology fellowship at the State University of New York, and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Geriatrics.

In practice he acquired additional skills in nuclear cardiology, pacemaker, defibrillator and biventricular pacemaker implantation, peripheral artery interventions and critical care in cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of Chest Physicians, has been named among “Top Physicians in America” and a Top 10 cardiologist in Kansas City (Castle Connolly survey), and has served as Clinical Associate Professor at Kansas University Medical Center.

Dr. Vikram P. Mehta graduated in 1980 with MBBS and MS Orthopedics, moved to the United States in 1981 and trained as a reconstructive and microvascular hand surgeon at the State University of New York, Buffalo. He began practicing in Orlando, Florida in 1989, and is a past president of the Seminole County Medical Society and past chief of staff at Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs.

Manjula Vara, originally from Kenya, came to Mumbai for further studies and obtained her MBBS from TNMC in 1973, taking an active part in the TNMC Golden Jubilee celebrations. She completed her residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty certification in Cytopathology.

An active member of AAPI since its inception, she co-chaired the Women’s Conference at the annual AAPI meeting in 2000 and chairs the Department of Pathology at Coney Island Hospital.

Born in Baroda, Gujarat, Vikas Karnik graduated from TNMC with an MD, DPM (Psychiatry) in 1983 and moved to Canada in 1984. After his internship and Family Medicine residency at the University of Manitoba, he has practiced in Windsor, Ontario since 1989, running two family medicine clinics that were named “Best Business” for 2005 by the Chamber of Commerce.

Yogesh Bakhai graduated from TNMC, Bombay University in 1979 and completed his MD and DPM in Psychiatry at Nair Hospital. He is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Vice Chair for Clinical Services at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Bindu has practiced cardiology in Bucks County, metropolitan Philadelphia since 1984 and is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. He is Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Saint Mary Medical Center, associate clinical professor at Drexel University, a member of Pennsylvania’s Advisory Health Board and past chairman of the IMG section of the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

A TNMC and University of Bombay graduate, Dr. Nair completed his internship and residency at Saint Luke’s Medical Center, Cleveland, with fellowships at University Hospitals of Cleveland and the University of Illinois at Chicago. His interests include coronary artery disease, complex coronary intervention, total occlusions, rotational atherectomy and drug-eluting stenting.

Born in Mumbai, Nicholas A. Nayak completed his surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts, practiced emergency medicine from 1975 to 1996, and in 1992 began a clinical research career with his wife, Dr. Anjuli S. Nayak, in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. Together they have completed over 600 clinical trials and published over 250 papers.

Born in Mumbai, Shashank Parekh graduated from TNMC with an MD, DMRD (Radiology) and came to the USA in 1987. After residency and fellowships in body imaging and neuroradiology at the University of Virginia and a visiting professorship at Emory, he has practiced radiology at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia since 1994.

Raised in Mumbai, Amita R. Patel graduated from TNMC in 1985, completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Cincinnati in 1991 and has practiced in Dayton, Ohio since. She is Clinical Associate Professor at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine and a leading clinician and educator in geriatric psychiatry, recipient of the 2005 Clinician of the Year award from the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry.
